What is Cringe?

So, What or Who is Cringe?

Simple short answer: Everyone is...and/or no one is. (Didn't get it right? Neither did I.)

After a profound exploration into the world of cringe-worthy content, and let me tell you, it's been a rollercoaster of self-reflection.

So, picture this: I used to be that person posting gym pics, flexing those non-existent muscles, thinking I was the next fitness influencer. Little did I know, there was a silent army of Naruto fans ready to label my posts as "cringe-worthy." Now, hold on a second! I mean, at least I was breaking a sweat, right? But who am I to judge?

Fast forward a bit, and there I was, passionately posting about Messi winning the World Cup and the latest Vijay movie. Suddenly, my past self tapped me on the shoulder, reminding me of my former 'holier-than-thou' attitude. Irony, my friend, is a dish best served with a side of humble pie. And just when I was disgusted by myself I see the ones who were mocking me are hitting the gym now and posting stories. So Irony works both ways, huh?

Then came the anime phase. Yes, the very thing I once scoffed at. Suddenly, I found myself binge-watching shows like 'Attack on Titan' or 'Demon Slayer' with more plot twists than my last relationship. The urge to share my newfound passion was strong, but my inner critic shouted, "You used to be the anti-story poster! You can't go back now!"

Let's talk about those Instagram stories. We've got the deep thinkers with their depression posts, the self-proclaimed motivators, and the comedians attempting to turn your frown upside down. Not to forget the adorable pet and baby videos, right alongside the adrenaline junkies attempting stunts that would make your grandma cringe.

In the end, it hit me like a meme right in the feels: "Let's not judge." Instagram doesn't have a dislike button for a reason, but fear not, the "Use Me as a Dislike Button" crusader is here to fill the void. Everyone's got their vibe, their tribe, and their own unique sense of what's cringe-worthy.

So, next time you're about to cringe-scroll through someone's posts, remember: we're all just doing our best in this chaotic world of social media randomness. Embrace the cringe, laugh a little, and let's make the internet a happier place, but remember, one cringe-worthy post at a time.
